Educational Program

The aim of Toastmasters is to help members to gain confidence in public speaking and to improve their leadership skills. There
are many different roles which members can play in a typical toastmasters meeting and through a structured educational program, members will receive educational awards.

A new educational programme, Pathways, has been introduced at EI Toastmasters and all new members will start this programme. At each meeting members can take on a role such as Speaker (with a prepared speech), Speech Evaluator, Timer, “Ah” Counter/Grammarian, Wordmaster, Topics Master, Toastmaster, General Evaluator.

EI Toastmasters Club meets every second Thursday from 1pm-2pm on Zoom. Meetings generally include two prepared speeches, table topics and evaluations of the speeches and the whole meeting.

Distinguished Club Program

The Area Director encourages all clubs in the area to aim to achieve a Distinguished Club Award. To do this a club is required to
achieve certain milestones such as members achieving Pathways Level awards, participation in competitions etc.

EI Toastmasters achieved its first Distinguished Club Award in the 2015/16 season and improved on this in 2016/17 season by achieving a Select Distinguished Award, and in the last two seasons achieved the highest possible Presidents Distinguished award.
